Welcome to Ora App ("Ora," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Ora mobile application (the "App") and its associated website at oraapp.com (the "Website"). By downloading, installing, or using Ora, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Website.

1. Description of Service

Ora is a Catholic prayer companion application that provides tools and resources to support your spiritual life, including but not limited to: the Rosary with audio guidance, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, daily Mass readings, saint biographies, novenas, Bible reading, and AI-powered Scripture guidance. The App is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

2. Account Registration

  • You must create an account to use certain features of the App. You may register using your email address and password, or through third-party authentication providers (Google or Apple).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as needed.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the App.

3. Acceptable Use

When using Ora, you agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its servers, or any related systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or the experience of other users.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or interact with the App.
  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display the App's content without our prior written consent.

4. Intellectual Property

All content and materials available through Ora, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, software, and the compilation thereof, are the property of Ora App or its content suppliers and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Biblical texts, liturgical readings, and prayer texts included in the App are sourced from publicly available Catholic resources and may be subject to their own copyright or licensing terms. We make every effort to properly attribute such content.

The Ora name, logo, and all related trademarks are the property of Ora App. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

5. AI-Powered Features

The App includes features that use artificial intelligence to provide guidance on Scripture and Catholic teachings. Please be aware that:

  • AI-generated responses are provided for informational and devotional purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for official Church teaching, pastoral counsel, or theological expertise.
  • While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. We encourage you to consult authoritative Catholic sources and clergy for definitive guidance.
  • We do not store the content of your AI interactions beyond what is necessary to provide the service within a single session.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or provide through the App (e.g., notes, preferences). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this content solely to provide and improve the service.

7. Availability and Modifications

  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App. Scheduled maintenance, updates, and external factors may cause temporary unavailability.
  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Ora is a prayer tool and devotional aid. It is not a substitute for participation in the Sacraments, attendance at Holy Mass, or consultation with ordained clergy. The spiritual content provided is intended to support, not replace, your relationship with the Catholic Church.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ORA APP, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ora App and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to the App or its users.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ora App operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ora App regarding your use of the App and Website, and supersede any prior agreements.
